Cada vez mais os meios de comunicação se estão a tornar “fábricas de velocidade” e de aceleração do tempo, favorecendo o pensamento rápido em vez de um raciocínio processado e deliberado.
Susana de Andrés, professora de Ética na Comunicação na Universidad de Valladolid, abordou esta temática na conferência de abertura da XIII SOPCOM destacando o impacto da ideologia da contração do tempo, que cada vez mais se traduz numa fadiga constante e em processos de burnout.
A coautora do livro Comunicación Radical discutiu como o tempo é um dos fatores da crise sistémica social e planetária, realçando como a velocidade tecnológica confunde a realidade que vivemos no quotidiano, alterando a percepção humana.
A audiência teve também espaço nesta abordagem, questionando qual a postura a ter para nos desligarmos desta tendência. Em resposta, a oradora destacou a dificuldade da tarefa e assumiu a ter consciência é a chave. Sublinhou ainda a necessidade de haver espaço para a interação com animais e natureza no nosso entorno, potenciando desta maneira a nossa capacidade cognitiva
